Benefits of

The Life Wheels On Difference

Focus on Patient Outcomes

Our first focus is creating the best outcomes for our patients. We listen to you to ensure your equipment will meet every need. We still check off every insurance requirement without losing focus on the person in front of us.

Wheelchair/Scooter Trials

We coordinate with the durable medical equipment (DME) company so patients can test drive equipment before they commit to purchasing.

Clinical Experience

Life Wheels On therapists have over 60 years of combined experience, with extensive training for wheelchair seating and mobility. Many therapists with LWO also have their Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification after completing advanced seating and wheeled mobility training.

Location

We provide an in-home assessment to be certain that a wheelchair or scooter will work in your home environment. Most outpatient clinics do not provide this assessment, which leads to inaccurate equipment recommendations that don’t end up working well for the patient.

Follow Up

After the wheelchair or scooter delivery, our therapists return to your home to check that the equipment is actually what was ordered and that it fits well, meets your goals, and can be used efficiently and safely. During this appointment, we show you important safety functions and features that help you get the best experience with your new wheelchair or scooter. Life Wheels On collaborates with the DME supplier to assist with any necessary adjustments.

Individual Approach

We believe everyone who uses is a wheelchair or scooter is unique, so our process adapts to your individual needs. Some people need to receive equipment as fast as possible, and others need more time to trial equipment and explore options. Our flexible scheduling options are designed to best meet each patient’s unique needs.

Specialty Service

Performing mobility assessments well requires clinician expertise and accurate documentation. If the therapist is inexperienced, it leads to inappropriate wheelchair or scooter recommendations and poor patient outcomes. And if the documentation is not completed correctly, it causes delays in equipment or denials from the insurance company. Our evaluations are a specialty service not offered by all clinics. These evaluations make sure you’re happy with your equipment for all the years you use it and help avoid the difficulties of getting insurance approval for changes after delivery.
